Installation audiovisuelle dans le cadre du Colloque Ports et Portes

AÉROPORTS est une installation Ambiance Spécifique que j'ai conçue et réalisée lors du colloque Ports et Portes 8-11 septembre 2024. Comme les fois précédentes à Cerisy, mon intervention est née de ma présence dans le château, suivant les interventions, vivant et échangeant avec les participants les moments, y compris conviviaux et informels, des journées passées ensemble.
La Sérendipité - comme toujours - m'a guidée : « par hasard », j'avais à ma disposition une vingtaine de haut-parleurs portables (avec lesquels je travaille habituellement) et j'avais avec moi de minuscules leds clignotantes. J'ai récupéré les enregistrements audio que j'ai réalisés entre 2008 et 2024 dans 24 aéroports différents, dans 12 pays différents, et j'ai installé ces sons en hauteur et au plafond de l'endroit le plus haut du château : le Grenier, la nuit, avec les lumières éteintes.

Les voix des aéroports sont les sons qui anticipent et précèdent les vols ; les petites LED clignotantes évoquent les lumières des avions la nuit, dans le ciel.

AÉROPORTS is an Ambiance Specific installation that I designed and created for the Ports et Portes conference from 8 to 11 September 2024. As on previous occasions at Cerisy, my work grew out of my presence at the Château, following the presentations, experiencing and sharing with the participants the moments, including the convivial and informal ones, of the days spent together.
Serendipity - as always - guided me: 'by chance' I had about twenty portable loudspeakers (which I usually work with) and I had tiny flashing LEDs with me. I collected the audio recordings I had made between 2008 and 2024 in 24 different airports in 12 different countries and installed these sounds high up on the ceiling of the highest part of the castle: the attic, at night, with the lights off.

The airport voices are the sounds that anticipate and precede the flights; the little flashing LEDs evoke the lights of the planes in the sky at night.
